Some Words Concerning the "Power and Primacy of the Pope" which is recorded apposite on this page.
This Treatise is an excellent writing which clearly reveals the problems that can and will arise when men/women take upon themselves too much authority. Humans are prone to want to be in charge and to have others follow them. When this happens within the "Visible Church" of God bad things will follow. Man places God in a secondary or worse position and places himself/themself in the supreme position. When this happens God's Word gets forgotten and the word of man gets exalted. This is bad, very bad!
A Synod or any church body is formed to serve and help the individual congregations. When a Synod begins demanding from the conregations , rather than simply passively serving them, God's Word begins to be forgotten. May this never happen us. We do not serve Synod. We do not serve any man. The "Truth" is that we do not even serve God! For as Jesus The Christ states in Matthew 28, " "just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."
Yes we do serve God. But we do not do it to receive His praise or to better enable our entry into heaven. No. We serve God because He so graciously served, serves, and will always serve us with His precious Life, Death, and Resurrection. We serve God by repenting of our sins and trusting in His glorious forgivness. How do we do the works of God? Jesus said this is the work of God that you believe in Him whom He hath sent.
Please read the "Treatise" on the opposite of this page and take the words to heart. May we always be served by God and by His Grace alone may we always serve Him in the manner He has so commanded us: to believe in Him whom He hath sent.

35] Next, the Popes began to seize upon kingdoms for themselves; they transferred kingdoms, they vexed with unjust excommunications and wars the kings of almost all nations in Europe, but especially the German emperors, sometimes for the purpose of occupying cities of Italy, at other times for the purpose of reducing to subjection the bishops of Germany, and wresting from the emperors the conferring of episcopates. 38] In the third place, this must be added: Even though the bishop of Rome had the primacy and superiority by divine right nevertheless obedience would not be due those pontiffs who defend godless services, idolatry, and doctrine conflicting with the Gospel. Nay; such pontiffs and such a government ought to be held accursed, as Paul clearly teaches, Gal. 1, 8: Though an angel from heaven preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. And in Acts 5, 29: We ought to obey God rather than men. Likewise the canons also clearly teach that a heretical Pope is not to be obeyed.
